Western Disturbance To Give Heavy Rainfalls For Pakistan

Current Conditions on 6th December 2008 @ 7.00 pm.

The Deep Depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal currently lying at 9.0N Lat. & 84.0 E. Long. is about 400 Kms. East from Tamilnadu Coast. There is a chance that the system will intensify further to a Cyclinic Storm "BIJLI" by tomorrow and move in a mainly Westerly direction towards north Sri Lanka and susequently towards Tamil Nadu coast during next two days. The Central pressure is 996 Mb. and Winds are at 65 Kms./Hour with gusts upto 80 Kms./Hour

Forecast: 5 to 10 Cms. rain over Coastal Tamilnadu with isolated places getting upto 20 Cms.

Forecast Pakistan, Jammu & Kashmir:

A western disturbance as an upper air system has approached Pakistan today and will move Northwards over Pakistan tomorrow. Many parts of Pakistan will get 2 Cms to 5 Cms. of rain with isolated pockets getting 10 Cms. Bordering area of Rajastan will get light rains. Subsequently from tomorrow the western disturbance will affect Jammu & Kashmir and other parts of western Himalayan region and adjoining plains of northwest India. Rain and snow is expected over these regions.

Forecast Saurashtra and Rajkot:

Daytime and Nightime Temperatures will remain above normal for two more days. Subsequently the Daytime and nighttime Temperature will come down by 5 Degrees. Yet the Nighttime Temperatures will still be above normal till 10th. Normal Daytime and Nighttime Temperatures for Rajkot at this time of the year should be about 30 Degrees and 15 Degrees respectively.
