The Monsoon trough has shifted Northwards since last two days. There is an upper air Cyclonic Circulation over Bay of Bengal South of West Bengal and Bangla Desh. Under its influence, a Low Pressure is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal between 8th and 9th August.

Weather Forecast for Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat:

7th to 14th August 2008:

The Western end of the Monsoon trough is expected to shift back to its normal position around 9th/10th August. Also upper air Cyclonic Circulation is expected to form over Gujarat and nearby Arabian Sea when the Western end of the Monsoon trough shifts back to its normal position. Under the cumulative effects of the expected Low Pressure from the BOB and these Systems, Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast for Saurashtra & Madhya Gujarat. South Gujarat along with Coastal Saurashtra will receive very heavy rainfalls during this period. North Gujarat and Kutch will receive moderate rainfall during the same period.
