The Low Pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and neighborhood persists. Associated Cyclonic Circulation extends up to 7.6 kms above sea level tilting southwestwards with height. System is expected to strengthen further during next 24 hours.
The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Anupgarh,
Narnaul, Shivpuri, Umaria, Ambikapur, Jharsuguda, Center of Low Pressure area
and thence Southeastwards to East Central Bay of Bengal. It extends up to 1.5
kms above sea level passing across the same region.
An offshore trough at mean sea level extends from South Gujarat coast to
Karnataka coast.
There is an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over Madhya Pradesh and vicinity.

Forecast: 28th to 1st August 2014
Due to cumulative effects of the UAC over Madhya Pradesh and vicinity and the Bay of Bengal Low Pressure, a good round of rainfall is expected during the forecast period. Current forecast is that there would be heavy Rainfall over Gujarat, North Saurashtra, Coastal Saurashtra and Kutch with few of the places getting very heavy Rainfall. Rest of Saurashtra is expected to to get medium Rainfall during the forecast period.

Heavy last night in surendranagar from 9:20 to 1pm surendranagar recorded 5.5inch rain lakhtar near by surendranagar received 8.5inch heavy with thunderstorms… will it be continued likes this for surendranagar or rain capacity will reduce now… if same conditions will occur within a day then i feel surendranagar will be in trouble for sure…

The rain that Gujarat & Saurashtra is getting is from a Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation that was over West M.P. and has now moved Westwards towards Gujarat and a Low has also formed over Gujarat/Saurashtra. It will continue giving rain over Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch till 1st August and then reduce from 2nd AUgust. The Bay Of Bengal Low will travel till M.P. but will not come to Saurashtra.

Whether is cloudy in jam-kandorana region but not rain!! Can I getting heavy rain or not?
Low pressure means lowest sea level pressure in an area. The 994 and 992 or 996 in Northwest India is the seasonal low pressure which is always there in Monsoon. The circle with low figure in Bay of Bengal or near Bay of Bengal is the Low Pressure system that we are interested in.
