Severe Cyclonic Storm "LAILA" in the Bay of Bengal has made initial landfall on the Andhra Pradesh coast between ONGOLE and CHIRALA. The Cyclone -80 Degrees C. clouds are spread over 350 Km. diameter. Currently more than 50 % of these clouds are over Andhra Pradesh land. System is expected to weaken due to land interaction.
Strong winds are expected for Coastal Andhra Pradesh Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall for these areas. Every care should be taken to protect life and property in these areas.
