Sub: Commencement of withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from northwest India

Current Meteorological conditions:

In view of the persistence of an anti-cyclonic circulation in the lower tropospheric level over northwest India, gradual reduction in moisture in the lower & mid-tropospheric levels and reduction in rainfall, southwest monsoon has withdrawn from some parts of Punjab, Haryana and north Rajasthan today, the 09th October, 2019 as against the normal date of 01st September. The most delayed withdrawal in the past years has been recorded in 1961 (1st October 1961), followed by 30th September in 2007.

As on today, the withdrawal line passes through Lat. 31.5°N / Long. 74.5°E, Kapurthala, Ambala, Karnal, Churu and Lat. 27.5°N / Long. 70.0°E. Withdrawal map is given below.

Conditions are becoming favorable for further withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some more parts of northwest India during next 2 days and from remaining parts of northwest India and adjoining Central India during subsequent 2-3 days.

9 ઓક્ટોબર 2019: આજે દક્ષિણ પશ્ચિમ ચોમાસા ની વિદાય ની શરૂવાત થઇ – પંજાબ, હરિયાણા અને નોર્થ રાજસ્થાન ના ભાગો માંથી ચોમાસાએ વિદાય લીધી.

દક્ષિણ પશ્ચિમ ચોમાસા ના વિદાય માટે ના ધોરણો :

1. નોર્થ વેસ્ટ ભારત બાજુ (પશ્ચિમ રાજસ્થાન ) ચોમાસા ની વિદાય બાબત 1 સપ્ટેમ્બર પહેલા નથી જોવાતું.

2. 1st સપ્ટેમ્બર પછી નોર્થ વેસ્ટ ભારત બાજુ (પશ્ચિમ રાજસ્થાન ) માંથી ચોમાસાની વિદાય માટે નીચે ના પરિબળો ધ્યાને લેવાય છે :

a. ઉપરોક્ત વિસ્તાર માં સળંગ 5 દિવસ વરસાદ ની ગેરહાજરી.

b. 850 hPa અને તેની નીચે એન્ટિસાયક્લોન પ્રસ્થાપિત થવું. (ઘડિયાળ ના કાંટા ની જેમ પવન ફૂંકાવા – ઉંધી ઘૂમરી )

c. સેટેલાઇટ ઇમેજ માં વૉટર વેપર (ભેજ) અતિ ઘટ થવી.

ત્યાર બાદ દેશ ના બાકી ભાગો માંથી ચોમાસુ વિદાય ના ધોરણો :

દેશના બાકી ભાગો ચોમાસા વિદાય માટે ચોમાસુ વિદાય રેખા સળંગ રહે તે રીતે, તેમજ તે વિસ્તાર માં સળંગ 5 દિવસ વરસાદ વગર ના અને સેટેલાઇટ ઇમેજ માં વૉટર વેપર (ભેજ) અતિ ઘટ થવી.

દક્ષિણ પશ્ચિમ ચોમાસુ દક્ષિણ ભારત માંથી ચાલુ થતું હોય, સમગ્ર દેશ માંથી 1 ઓક્ટોબર પહેલા વિદાય નથી કરાતી. જ્યાં સુધી દક્ષિણ પશ્ચિમ ના પવનો લુપ્ત થઇ અને પવનો દિશા બદલે ત્યાં સુધી.
