Further Unseasonal Rain Expected Over Maharashtra, Karnataka, A.P., Madhya Pradesh, Chhatishgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, W.B. & Kerala

Current Weather Conditions on 4th March 2014

The Western Disturbance has moved over to North India. A trough in the mid and upper tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 Kms. above sea level runs roughly along Gujarat to North India.

 There is an induced Cyclonic Circulation at 1.5 Kms. above sea level over Rajasthan – West U.P. border and adjoining areas of Uttarakhand.

There is a trough at mean sea level from Lakshadweep area to south Gujarat coast along the west coast.

A Cyclonic Circulation extending upto 1.5 Kms. above sea level lies over Goa–Karnataka coasts and second Cyclonic Circulation extending upto 0.9 Km. above sea level lies over Comorin-Maldives area.

The Cyclonic Circulation over Chhattisgarh and neighborhood extends up to 0.9 Km. above sea level while the Cyclonic Circulation over Odisha and neighborhood has become less marked.

Forecast: 4th to 9th March 2014

Many parts of Maharashtra will get unseasonal rain on all the days of forecast period cumulative rain quantum of 2 Cms. to 5 Cms. accompanied some times with hail storm. Unseasonal rain to continue over parts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatishgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, W.B. & Kerala on two to three days of forecast period with cumulative rain quantum varying from 1 Cms. to 2 Cms. Some parts of Gujarat could get showers on one or two days between 6th to 9th March while some parts of Saurashtra could receive showers a day or two between 7th to 9th March.
