Current Weather Conditions – 17th June 2025

The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced over:

  • Some more parts of the North Arabian Sea

  • Entire Saurashtra, most parts of Kutch & Gujarat Region,

  • Remaining parts of Vidarbha,

  • Some more parts of Madhya Pradesh,

  • Most parts of Chhattisgarh,

  • Remaining parts of Odisha,

  • Some parts of Jharkhand,

  • Entire Gangetic West Bengal,

  • Remaining parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and

  • Some parts of Bihar.

  • Note: The Northern Limit of Monsoon has crossed through Deesa (~24.4°N), covering most of Kutch. Only a very small pocket in extreme northern Kutch, near 24.7°N, may still await monsoon onset

Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM)

As of today, the NLM passes through: 24.0°N/60.0°E, 24.0°N/65.0°E, Deesa, Indore, Pachmarhi, Mandla, Ambikapur, Hazaribagh, Supaul, and 29.0°N/84.0°E.

Forecast Outlook

Favorable conditions are likely to support further advancement of the Southwest Monsoon over the following areas during the next 2 days:

  • Remaining parts of North Arabian Sea and Gujarat,

  • Some parts of Rajasthan,

  • Some more parts of Madhya Pradesh,

  • Remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar,

  • Some parts of East Uttar Pradesh.

  • Monsoon expected to remain active over Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch next few days.

Synoptic Features

  • A low pressure area over Southwest Bangladesh and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal persists as of 0830 IST on 17th June 2025.

    • It is likely to move slowly west-northwestwards and intensify further over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas in the next 24 hours.

  • Another low pressure area lies over the Gujarat region and neighborhood, also persisting as of 0830 IST today.

    • It is expected to move nearly northwards during the next 24 hours.

  • સમગ્ર સૌરાષ્ટ્ર, મોટાભાગના કચ્છ અને ગુજરાત રિજિયનમાં
  • વિદર્ભના બાકી વિસ્તારોમાં
  • મધ્ય પ્રદેશના વધુ કેટલાંક વિસ્તારોમાં
  • છત્તીસગઢના મોટાભાગના વિસ્તારોમાં
  • ઓડિશાના બાકી વિસ્તારોમાં
  • ઝારખંડના કેટલાક વિસ્તારોમાં
  • સમગ્ર ગેંગેટિક પશ્ચિમ બંગાળમાં
  • સબ-હિમાલયન પશ્ચિમ બંગાળના બાકી વિસ્તારોમાં
  • બિહારના કેટલાક વિસ્તારોમાં

નોંધ: ચોમાસાની ઉત્તરી સીમા હવે ડીસા (~24.4°N) પાસેથી પસાર થઈ રહી છે, જે કચ્છના મોટાભાગના ભાગને આવરી લે છે. કચ્છના અતિ ઉત્તર ભાગમાં લગભગ 24.7°N નજીક એક નાનો ખૂણો હજુ પણ ચોમાસાની પ્રવેશની રાહ જોઈ રહ્યો હોય શકે.

આજે 17 જૂન 2025ના રોજ NLM નીચેના સ્થળોથી પસાર થાય છે:
24.0°N / 60.0°E, 24.0°N / 65.0°E, ડીસા, ઇન્દોર, પંચમઢી, મંડલા, અંબિકાપુર, હઝારીબાગ, સુપૌલ, અને 29.0°N / 84.0°E

આગામી 2 દિવસ દરમિયાન દક્ષિણ પશ્ચિમ ચોમાસું નીચેના વિસ્તારોમાં આગળ વધવાની સંભાવના છે:

  • દક્ષિણ પશ્ચિમ બાંગ્લાદેશ અને ગેંગેટિક પશ્ચિમ બંગાળના પડોશમાં આવેલું લો પ્રેસર ક્ષેત્ર આજે 17 જૂન 2025ના રોજ સવારે 08:30 IST સુધી ત્યાં જ છે.
    → તે પશ્ચિમ-ઉત્તર પશ્ચિમ દિશામાં ધીમે ધીમે ખસે અને આગામી 24 કલાકમાં વધુ પ્રબળ (WMLP) થવાની સંભાવના છે.
  • બીજું લો પ્રેસર ક્ષેત્ર ગુજરાત રિજિયન અને આસપાસના વિસ્તારોમાં પણ આજે સવારે 08:30 IST સુધી અસ્તિત્વમાં છે.
    → તે આગામી 24 કલાકમાં લગભગ ઉત્તર દિશામાં ખસે તેવી શક્યતા છે.
