Rainfall Quantum & Area To Reduce Over Most Parts Of Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat 19th-25th September 2020

સૌરાષ્ટ્ર, ગુજરાત અને કચ્છ ના મોટા ભાગો માં વરસાદી વિસ્તાર અને માત્રા ઘટશે તારીખ 19 થી 25 સપ્ટેમ્બર 2020

Current Weather Conditions:

Few observations from IMD, other observations and weather parameters:

The Western end of Axis of the Monsoon trough runs close to the Foothills of the Himalayas. The Eastern end of the Axis of Monsoon now passes through Bareilly, Allahabad, Ambikapur, Jharsuguda, Chandbali and thence Southeastwards to East Central Bay of Bengal.

The East-West shear zone roughly along Lat. 16°N across Peninsular India now seen between 3.1 km & 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting Southwards with height.

The remnant of Typhoon “NOUL” is crossing over to the Bay of Bengal across Thailand/Myanmar along with lower atmospheric pressure over the North and Central Bay of Bengal, a Low Pressure Area is likely to develop over Northeast Bay of Bengal & neighborhood by tomorrow, the 20th September 2020. It is likely to become more marked over Northwest Bay of Bengal & neighborhood during subsequent 24 hours.

Forecast: Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch 19th to 25th September 2020

South Gujarat:

Possibility of Light/Medium/Heavy rain over scattered areas on some days at different locations with isolated Very Heavy rainfall during the Forecast period. Cumulative Rainfall 35 mm to 50 mm with some Heavy rain centers could get cumulative up to 100 mm during the entire forecast period. Thunder expected on some days with windy conditions and mostly medium winds during rest of the forecast period.

North Gujarat:

Possibility of Showers/Light rain over scattered areas on some days at different locations with isolated Medium rainfall during the Forecast period. Cumulative Rainfall up to 25 mm during the entire forecast period. Thunder expected on some days with windy conditions and mostly medium winds during rest of the forecast period.

East Central Gujarat & 40% Saurashtra: 

Possibility of Light/Medium rain over scattered areas on some days at different locations with isolated Heavy rainfall during the Forecast period. Cumulative Rainfall 15 mm to 35 mm with some Heavy rain centers could get cumulative up to 60 mm during the entire forecast period. Thunder expected on some days with windy conditions and mostly medium winds during rest of the forecast period.

60% Saurashtra:

Possibility of Showers/Light rain over scattered areas on some days at different locations during the Forecast period. Cumulative Rainfall up to 15 mm during the entire forecast period. Thunder expected on some days and mostly medium winds during the forecast period.

Kutch:

Possibility of Showers/Light rain over scattered areas on some days at different locations. (Low Forecast confidence)

Monsoon Withdrawal: Southwest Monsoon withdraws first from North West India (Rajasthan/Punjab) and subsequently from other parts and then Kutch & North Gujarat followed by Saurashtra and rest of Gujarat. Hence Monsoon withdrawal cannot yet start over Gujarat.


ચોમાસા ની વિદાય: દેશ માં સૌથી પહેલા ચોમાસા ની વિદાય નોર્થ વેસ્ટ ઇન્ડિયા (રાજસ્થાન/પંજાબ) બાજુથી થાય. પછી ક્રમશ બીજા ભાગો માંથી પછી કચ્છ, નોર્થ ગુજરાત એન્ડ ત્યાર બાદ સૌરાષ્ટ્ર અને બાકી ગુજરાત માંથી. એટલે સૌરાષ્ટ્ર કચ્છ અને ગુજરાત માંથી ચોમાસા ની વિદાય માટે હજુ વાર છે.
