Current Weather Conditions on 16th May 2015

Maximum Temperature has risen over Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch along with some parts of Rajasthan. Yesterday the Maximum Temperature at some locations of Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch are as under:

Ahmedabad 41.8 C (Normal)

Rajkot 42.7 C (+2 C above normal)

Bhuj 43.5 C (+3 C above normal)

Idar 43.7 C (+3 C above normal)

Surat 41.0 C (+5 C above normal) is heat wave condition.

 

Forecast: 16th May to 21st 2015

Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch:

 

Hot weather will continue over Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch with Maximum Temperature over hot centers range will be 42-45 C.

 

Northwest India, North India & Central India:

Maximum temperature will initially start to increase over Northwest India from 17th and further increase and remain high during the rest of the forecast period till 21st May. Heating will spread across North India & Central India from 18th May and remain till the end of forecast period. Heat wave conditions will exist  over many pockets of India. The Maximum Temperatures of 43-46 C expected in hot centers during the forecast period, with some pockets even crossing 46 C.

South India:

Medium to heavy pre-monsoon rains will continue on 16th to 18th over Kerala, Karnataka, T.N. & some parts of Andhra Pradesh. Quantum will be will be light to medium from 19th to 21st. May.

As per IMD: Conditions are becoming favorable for the onset of Southwest Monsoon oer Nicobar Islands and adjoining Sea areas during next 2 to 3 days.
