Associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 3.6 km above mean sea level also persists. NORTH INDIAN OCEAN AREA (MALAY PENINSULA WEST TO COAST OF AFRICA):\r\n   A. TROPICAL CYCLONE SUMMARY: NONE.\r\n   B. TROPICAL DISTURBANCE SUMMARY:\r\n      (1) THE AREA OF CONVECTION PREVIOUSLY LOCATED NEAR 11.0N \r\n67.6E, IS NOW LOCATED NEAR 13.3N 68.6E, APPROXIMATELY 415 NM \r\nSOUTHWEST OF MUMBAI, INDIA. ANIMATED INFRARED SATELLITE IMAGERY \r\nCONTINUES TO DEPICT A BROAD AREA OF PERSISTENT DEEP CONVECTION WITH \r\nFORMATIVE BANDING WRAPPING INTO A SLOWLY-CONSOLIDATING LOW-LEVEL \r\nCIRCULATION CENTER (LLCC). A 051433Z SSMIS MICROWAVE IMAGE REVEALS \r\nFRAGMENTED CONVECTIVE BANDING AROUND THE LLCC. UPPER-LEVEL ANALYSIS \r\nINDICATES THE DISTURBANCE IS LOCATED IN A FAVORABLE ENVIRONMENT WITH \r\nLOW VERTICAL WIND SHEAR AND GOOD POLEWARD OUTFLOW. ADDITIONALLY, \r\nWARM SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURES (29 TO 30 DEGREES CELSIUS) AND HIGH \r\nOCEAN HEAT CONTENT VALUES ARE CONDUCIVE FOR DEVELOPMENT. THIS SYSTEM \r\nIS EXPECTED TO TRACK GENERALLY NORTHWARD OVER THE NEXT TWO DAYS \r\nALONG THE WESTERN PERIPHERY OF THE POLEWARD ORIENTED SUBTROPICAL \r\nRIDGE. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS ARE ESTIMATED AT 20 TO 25 \r\nKNOTS. MINIMUM SEA LEVEL PRESSURE IS ESTIMATED TO BE NEAR 1004 MB. \r\nTHE POTENTIAL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SIGNIFICANT TROPICAL CYCLONE \r\nWITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS IS UPGRADED TO HIGH.
