On Sunday the Maximum Temperature had reached 41.3 C at Surendranagar &amp; Kandala (Airport). There was Heat Wave conditions in pockets of Saurashtra, Gujarat &amp; Kutch.<\/h3>\n<h3>From IMD &#8211; Criteria for Heat Wave:<\/h3>\n<h3>Heat wave need not be considered till maximum temperature of a station reaches at least 40\u00baC for Plains and at least 30\u00baC for Hilly regions.<\/h3>\n<h3>a) When normal maximum temperature of a station is less than or equal to 40\u00baC Heat Wave Departure from normal is 5\u00baC to 6\u00baC Severe Heat Wave Departure from normal is 7\u00baC or more<\/h3>\n<h3>b) When normal maximum temperature of a station is more than 40\u00ba C Heat Wave Departure from normal is 4\u00baC to 5\u00baC Severe Heat Wave Departure from normal is 6\u00baC or more<\/h3>\n<h3>c) When actual maximum temperature remains 45\u00baC or more irrespective of normal maximum temperature, heat wave should be declared.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u00a0The Maximum Temperature yesterday and the Minimum Temperature this morning at various locations were as follows (figures in the bracket is departure from normal):<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Heat Wave Pockets:<br \/>\nRajkot Maximum 40.8 C (+5) &amp; Minimum 24.8 C\u00a0(+6)<br \/>\nBhuj Maximum 41.2 C (+5) &amp; Minimum 25.0 C\u00a0(+7)<br \/>\nIdar\u00a0Maximum 41.2 C (+5) &amp; Minimum 27.0 C (+6)<br \/>\nSurendranagar &amp; Kandla (Airport) 41.3C<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Forecast: 23rd to 27th March 2015<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Saurashtra, Kutch &amp; Gujarat:<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>The Temperature is expected to remain high and some pockets of Saurashtra, Kutch &amp; Gujarat will experience Heat Wave Conditions during the Forecast period. The Maximum Temperatures for most hot centers will be in the range of 40C to 42C.
