Current Weather Conditions on 17th May 2014 @ 10.30 am.<\/h3>\n

As had been forecast on 12th May that there would be unseasonal rain\/thunder lightening accompanied with gusty conditions, some areas of Saurashtra & Gujarat have experienced the same on most of the days till yesterday. Conditions still exists for unseasonal rain\/thunder lightening accompanied with gusty conditions over some areas of Saurashtra & Gujarat today the 17th May 2014. The Maximum temperature has dropped by 4 to 5 Degrees C. during the last few days and the Maximum Temperature in Rajkot & Ahmedabad is hovering around 38.5 C while it is about 37.0 C in Bhuj against normal Maximum Temperature of 40 C for Ahmedabad & Bhuj and 41.0 C for Rajkot. The Maximum Temperature at Rajkot, Ahmedabad & Bhuj were 37.9 C, 38.3 C & 36.6 C respectively.<\/p>\n

Forecast: 17th to 24th May 2014<\/h3>\n

Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat:<\/h3>\n

Unseasonal rain\/thunder lightening accompanied with gusty conditions expected over some areas of Saurashtra & Gujarat today the 17th May 2014.<\/p>\n

The Maximum Temperature is expected to rise once again over Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat by 19th May and is expected to go above normal during the forecast period. The Maximum in Saurashtra to reach 40 to 42 C range while in Gujarat 41 to 43 C range during the forecast period. Areas near Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Deesa, Surendranagar are expected to have higher Maximum Temperature.<\/p>\n

India:<\/h3>\n

Hot weather area would increase during the forecast period initially over East U.P., West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Vidarbha & Andhra Pradesh during 18th to 21th May. From 22nd the Hot Weather area will extend to over Rajasthan, Chhatishgarh, Orissa apart from East U.P., West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Vidarbha & Andhra Pradesh. On 23rd &\u00a0 24th May the Hot Weather area will also extend to over rest Of North India and adjoining Pakistan apart from U.P., Bihar, Jharkhand, Vidarbha,\u00a0Rajasthan, Chhatishgarh, Orissa & Andhra Pradesh. The Maximum Temperature over the Hot Spots of many States could range between 43 to 46 C during the forecast period with Heat Wave conditions over many pockets of the above States.<\/p>\n

Southwest Monsoon is expected to set in over Andaman & Nicobar Islands around Monday the 19th of May 2014.<\/p>\n

Rainfall: 18th to 24th may 2014<\/h3>\n

Andaman & Nicobar Islands will receive 15 Cms. to 20 Cms. of rainfall during the forecast period with isolated pockets getting more than 20 Cms.<\/p>\n

Kerala, parts of Karnataka & parts of Tamilnadu will receive pre-monsoon rainfall ranging from 2 Cm.s to 8 Cms. during the forecast period.<\/p>\n
