Yesterday at the least 28 Centers of India had Maximum Temperature above 43.0 C. Highest was Bikaner at 47.0 C. Some other centers above 45.0 C. are:

In Gujarat\u00a0 Surendranagar with 44.3 C. had the highest Maximum Temperature and other\u00a0 centers with Maximum Temperature above 42.0 C. were:<\/p>\n

\u2666 Southwest monsoon has set in over some parts of south Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea.<\/p>\n

\u2666 The northern limit of monsoon passes through 5.0\u00b0N\/85.0\u00b0E,10.0\u00b0N\/90.0\u00b0E, Long Islands and 16.0\u00b0N\/98.0\u00b0E.<\/p>\n

\u2666 Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest monsoon over some more parts of south Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Andaman Sea and some parts of eastcentral Bay of Bengal during next 2-3 days.<\/p>\n

Forecast: 18th to 23rd May 2013<\/h3>\n

Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat:<\/h3>\n

During the forecast period hot spots of whole Gujarat will be between 43.0 C.\u00a0 to 45 C. Generally non-coastal areas of the region will be 42 to 45 C. during this period. Expected to be windy in the evening period on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

Whole India:<\/h3>\n

Heat Wave conditions would prevail on most of the days during the forecast period over various Indian States. The following States will have at least one center where the Maximum Temperature will be above 44 C. on majority of the days during the forecast period:<\/p>\n

Rajasthan, M.P., Maharashtra, A.P., Chhatishgarh, Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand, U.P.,New Delhi, Punjab, Haryana.<\/p>\n

In India as well as Pakistan on most days during the forecast period the Maximum Temperature is expected to be above 47.0 C. with some days reaching 49 to 50 C.<\/p>\n
