Severe Cyclonic Storm "LAILA" in the Bay of Bengal has made initial landfall on the Andhra Pradesh coast between ONGOLE and CHIRALA. The Cyclone -80 Degrees C. clouds are spread over 350 Km. diameter. Currently more than 50 % of these clouds are over Andhra Pradesh land. System is expected to weaken due to land interaction.<\/p>\n
Strong winds are expected for Coastal Andhra Pradesh Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall for these areas. Every care should be taken to protect life and property in these areas.<\/p>\n
Note: Landfall assumption is made on the basis of various Satellite images. However, no reliance should be placed on these observations.
