Very Severe Cyclonic Storm current location is 21.0N 59.1E and on the verge of making Landfall over the Coastal area of AL-SHARQIYA Region of Oman. Winds are 140 Kms.\/Hour gusting to 170 Kms\/Hour with Central pressure of about 974 Mb. The Wave height is 10 meters. Cyclone PHET has tracked Northerly direction with a little western inclination towards Coastal area of AL-SHARQIYA Region of Oman. Influence of Western disturbance on this System should also be watched carefully, since it will decide the fate of this system.<\/p>\n
Heavy rains and winds forecast for these regions till 5th June 2010.
People should be vigilant and take precautions about very windy conditions as well as flash flooding.<\/b><\/p>\n
Currently maximum risk is for Oman, however, it is important for all Countries from Oman, Iran, Pakistan & India to be watchful and closely monitor PHET for effects of Winds and rain in their regions.<\/p>\n
Saurashtra & Gujarat:
Even though the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm PHET is about 1200 Kms. from Saurashtra Coast, due to the Intensity of this System, currently expect Windy conditions and Scattered Hit & Miss Rain for Saurashtra from the moisture incursion from Arabian Sea.<\/p>\n
