Sub: Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm \u201cMocha\u201d (pronounced as \u201cMokha\u201d) over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm \u201cMocha\u201d (pronounced as \u201cMokha\u201d) over East central Bay of Bengal moved nearly northeastwards with a speed of 19 kmph during past 06 hours and lay centered at 1430 hours IST of today, the 13th May 2023 over the same region near latitude 16.4\u00b0N and longitude 90.3\u00b0E, about 590 km north-northwest ofPort Blair, 580 km south-southwest of Cox\u2019s Bazar (Bangladesh) and 490 km southsouthwest of Sittwe (Myanmar). It is very likely to move north-northeastwards and cross southeast Bangladesh and north Myanmar coasts between Cox\u2019s Bazar (Bangladesh) and Kyaukpyu (Myanmar), close to Sittwe (Myanmar) around noon of 14th May, 2023 as an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm with maximum sustained wind speed of 170-180 kmph gusting to 200 kmph.<\/p>\n
