On 16th October the Southwest Monsoon had withdrawn from most of India except parts of Southern Peninsula.<\/p>\n

The withdrawal line pass through Lat. 19.0\u00b0 N \/ Long. 94.0\u00b0 E and Lat. 18.0\u00b0 N \/ Long. 90.0\u00b0 E, Kalingapatinam, Hyderabad, Gadag, Karwar, Lat. 15.0\u00b0 N \/ Long. 70.0\u00b0 E and
\nLat. 15.0\u00b0 N \/ Long. 60.0\u00b0 E.<\/p>\n

The Southwest Monsoon Withdrawal Line on October 17th<\/h3>\n

There is a Low Pressure area East of both Srilanka and Tamilnadu Coast. This Low is expected to track mostly West Northwestwards and will cross over to Arabian Sea. The winds over Tamilnadu and parts of Southern Peninsula are now mainly from Northeast suggesting the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from rest of Peninsula India. \u00a0 Conditions are favorable for Northeast Monsoon to set in over Tamilnadu and Kerala today.<\/p>\n

Coastal Tamilnadu\u00a0 expected to receive 7 Cms.\u00a0 to 15 Cms. during the forecast period. South Tamilnadu\u00a0 expected to receive 10 Cms.\u00a0 to 15 Cms. during the forecast period. North Tamilnadu\u00a0 expected to receive 3 Cms.\u00a0 to 6 Cms. during the forecast period.\u00a0 Kerala\u00a0 expected to receive 8 Cms.\u00a0 to 12 Cms. during the forecast period.<\/p>\n

Chennai to receive most of the forecast rainfall during 18th to 22nd.<\/p>\n
