Southwest Monsoon Covers Mumbai & Enters North Arabian Sea Reaches Coastal Saurashtra & South Gujarat – Update 25th June 2019<\/p>\n

The NLM passes through North Arabian Sea along Lat. 21N, Veraval, Surat and towards Indore and on wards as per Map.<\/p>\n

A UAC at 850 hPa is over Gujarat region & adjoining West M.P. and North Madhya Maharashtra.<\/p>\n

A Low Pressure is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal after about 5 days.<\/p>\n

As per IMD :<\/p>\n

Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of central Arabian Sea, Konkan & Madhya Maharashtra, some parts of north Arabian Sea and south Gujarat and some more parts of Madhya Pradesh.<\/p>\n

Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat. 21\u00b0N\/Long. 60\u00b0E, Lat. 21\u00b0N\/Long. 65\u00b0E, Veraval, Surat, Indore, Mandla, Pendra, Sultanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Mukteshwar and Lat. 31\u00b0N\/Long. 80\u00b0E.<\/p>\n

The trough at mean sea level now runs from Punjab to Nagaland across south Haryana, south Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Assam.<\/p>\n

The cyclonic circulation over Coastal Karnataka & neighbourhood now lies over eastcentral Arabian Sea & adjoining south Maharashtra between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level and tilting southwestwards with height.<\/p>\n

An east-west shear zone between 3.1 & 3.6 km above mean sea level runs roughly along Lat. 16\u00b0N, across the above cyclonic circulation over eastcentral Arabian Sea & adjoining south Maharashtra.<\/p>\n

The cyclonic circulation over south Gujarat & neighborhood now lies over Gujarat region & adjoining areas of north Madhya Maharashtra and West Madhya Pradesh between 1.5 & 2.1 km above mean sea level.<\/p>\n

The Western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation between 3.1 and 3.6 km above mean sea level over north Pakistan & adjoining Jammu & Kashmir has become less marked. However, the trough aloft with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level roughly along Long. 72\u00b0E to the north of Lat. 30\u00b0N persists.<\/p>\n

A cyclonic circulation lies over Punjab & adjoining areas of Haryana & northwest Rajasthan and extends upto 3.1 km above mean sea level.<\/p>\n

A Low Pressure Area is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal & neighborhood around 30th June.<\/p>\n

Active to vigorous monsoon conditions resulting in widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy and extremely heavy falls are very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Assam & Meghalaya and widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during next 2-3 days.<\/p>\n

Strong winds and rough sea in association with the Southwest Monsoon likely to prevail over southwest and westcentral Arabian Sea during 25th-29th June and over eastcentral Bay of Bengal & adjoining Andaman Sea on 28th & 29th June, 2019.<\/p>\n

Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch: 25th to 27th June 2019<\/h4>\n

Southwest Monsoon has set in over South Coastal Saurashtra and South Gujarat today, could get some more rain. Pre-monsoon activity to continue over Kutch and rest parts of Saurashtra & Gujarat next few days. Progress of Southwest Monsoon is expected to be in steps over Kutch and rest of Saurashtra & Gujarat.<\/p>\n
