Current Weather Conditions on 16th December 2015 @ 8.00 am. IST<\/h3>\n

Cold weather existed over most parts of Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch from 12th December till 15th December 2015. Cold Wave conditions prevailed over some pockets of Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch during this period on most days. Normal Minimum Temperature over whole area gradually decreases as December progresses.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Criteria for Cold Wave Wind chill factor plays an important role and brings down the actual minimum temperature depending upon the wind speed. The actual minimum temperature of a station should be reduced to \u201cwind chill effective minimum temperature (WCTn)\u201d based on wind chill factor using the enclosed table Enclosure I, WMO No. 331\/ Tech note No. 123 on \u201cThe assessment of human bio-climate. A limited review of physical parameters, 1972). For declaring \u201cCold Wave\u201d and \u201cCold Day\u201d WCTn should only be used. If WCTn is 10\u00b0C or less, then only the conditions for cold wave should be considered.<\/h3>\n

a) When normal minimum temperature is equal to 10\u00b0C or more. Cold Wave Departure from normal is -5\u00b0C to -6\u00b0C. Severe Cold Wave Departure from normal is -7\u00b0C or less<\/h3>\n

b) When normal minimum temperature is less than 10\u00b0C. Cold Wave Departure from normal is -4\u00b0C to -5\u00b0C. Severe Cold Wave Departure from normal is -6\u00b0C or less.<\/h3>\n
