There has been a very good round of rainfall over whole of Saurashtra, Kutch and Gujarat as had been Forecast on 3rd September 2012. The recent Rainfall has considerably improved the Agriculture scenario. Saurashtra has received 150 mm. average rainfall in last 8 days with Khambhaliya getting 367 mm. and Dhrol getting 301 mm.

Rainfall To Continue Over Saurashtra, Kutch And Gujarat

Current Weather Conditions on 5th September 2012 @ 9.00 am. IST

There has been very good rainfall over whole Saurshtra as had been forecast on 3rd September. The details of rainfall data till morning of 5th September will be updated in the evening.

The Low Pressure from the Bay of Bengal has strengthened to a Well Marked Low Pressure and is currently over East Madhya Pradesh and vicinity.

The Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over Gujarat region & neighbourhood persists.

The off­shore trough runs from Gujarat coast to Kerala coast.

Forecast: 5th to 8th September

The System from Chhatisgarh/M.P. will track mainly West Northwestwards. There is a possibility of the Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over Saurashtra Gujarat region to descend to surface to form a Low Pressure in the same area within 24 hours. As per current estimates both the Systems will merge within 48 hours and will be spread over a broad area of Saurashtra, Gujarat, South Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh. Subsequently the System is expected to track Westwards.

Saurashtra will continue to get rainfall till 7th September and Western parts of Saurashtra till 8th September.
Kutch will also get rainfall from this System.

Current Weather Conditions on 20th July 2011 @ 12.00 pm.

The rainfall over Saurashtra has now tapered off today. The sky is partly cloudy over Rajkot and winds have increased today. The Axis of Monsoon has slipped Northwards towards the Himalayan Foothills. The Cyclonic Circulation at Upper Level over Saurashtra and Gujarat has vanished.

Forecast: Saurashtra, Central & North Gujarat 20th to 22nd. July

No major rainfall expected, only scattered showers during the forecast period.

South Gujarat: 20th to 22nd. July

Scattered areas will get light to medium rainfall during the forecast period.

Chhatishgarh, Vidarbha & Madhya Pradesh is expected to get good rainfall during the forecast period.
