Unseasonal Rain Occurs Over Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat 28th Feb./1st March 2015 – Weather Clearing

Current Weather Conditions on 2nd March 2015

As had been forecast on 26th February that one more Western Disturbance India around 28th February, a WD indeed tracked over Pakistan India on 28th February. The trough associated with this WD extended up to Northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Kutch, Saurashtra & Gujarat. Unseasonal rain was reported from many parts of Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat from 28th evening till 1st March. The Maximum Temperature as well as Minimum Temperature Declined further and became 6 to 8 C and 2 to 5 C below normal respectively over most places of Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat. The Maximum Temperature yesterday and the Minimum Temperature this morning at various locations were as follows (figures in the bracket is departure from normal):

Rajkot Maximum 26.3 C (-6) & Minimum 12.2 C (-3)
Naliya Maximum 24.3 C (-6) & Minimum 10.3 C (-5)
Amreli Maximum 26.9 C (-7) & Minimum 13.6 C (-2)

The effect of Western Disturbance has decreased and the weather is clearing over Saurashtra & Kutch from today. Most parts of Gujarat the weather has cleared, but isolated shower is possible at one or two places in Gujarat just for today. The Maximum temperature is expected to remain below normal till 4th March and the Minimum Temeprature will be below normal or near normal during the forecast period up to 4th March.
