IMD Says Onset Of Monsoon Over Kerala Expected To Be Slightly Delayed To Around 6th June 2019 – Temperature To Remain Near Normal 15th To 20th May & Increase Thereafter Over Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch

Current Weather Conditions on 15th May 2019

Yesterday the Maximum Temperature was near normal over most places of Saurashtra, Gujarat while Temperatures were some what lower in Kutch area. The Maximum Temperatures were:

Rajkot 40.7 C ( normal), Amreli 40.4 C ( normal), Surendranagar 41.8 C, Gandhinagar 41.4 C, Ahmedabad 41.5 C, ( normal), Kandala (A) 38.8 C, Bhuj 36.4 C (3 C below normal)

Windy conditions prevailed over Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch on most days, especially in evening period.

The Western Disturbance over East Afghanistan & adjoining Pakistan is now seen as a trough at 5.8 km above mean sea level roughly along Longitude 62°E to the north of Latitude 28°N.

Another Western Disturbance is seen as a cyclonic circulation at 3.1 km above mean sea level over East Iran and neighborhood. The trough aloft at 5.8 km runs roughly along Longitude 53°E to the North of Latitude 18°N.

 

Forecast Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch 15th May to 22nd May 2019

Hot centers of whole Gujarat areas will be as under:

15th to 20th May 40 to 42 C range.
21st to 22nd May 41 to 43 C range with few centers in Gujarat and Eastern Saurashtra crossing 43.0 C. Humidity after sunset is expected to increase and so real feel Temperature will be higher.

Wind mainly Westerly directions till 17th May and then West Northwest for the rest of the forecast period.
Windy conditions expected mostly in evening periods. There is an Upper Air instability over Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch and is expected to remain till 18th May. There is a possibility of Thunder activity over stray pockets of Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch one one or two days till 18th May.

 

As per IMD the Onset of Monsoon over Kerala is expected to be delayed to around 6th June 2019, while they say that Conditions are becoming favorable for advance of Southwest Monsoon over the Southern part of Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islands and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal during 18-19th May 2019.

Sir g..once monsoon onset at the andaman nicobar island in the beginning of Indian monsoon…then it everlast untill the withdrawal from India..? it means May, June, July, August, September and October (6 months) of monsoon continue in Nicobar Island?? such a long duration in this island ?
