Rainfall during 12th to 19th August 2020:
Average Rainfall during the above period are more than forecast and are given below:
Kutch 150 mm
Saurashtra 155 mm
North Gujarat 121 mm
East Central Gujarat 185 mm
South Gujarat 432 mm
The Seasonal Rainfall till 19th morning is given below as percentage of Normal Yearly Rainfall for Various areas:
Kutch 149.50%
Saurashtra 117%
North Gujarat 62%
East Central Gujarat 66%
South Gujarat 76%
Current Weather Conditions:
Few observations from IMD, other observations and weather parameters:
Under the influence of an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over North Bay of Bengal, a Low Pressure Area had formed over North Bay of Bengal which subsequently became a Well Marked Low Pressure Area lying over Northwest Bay of Bengal & neighborhood with associated Cyclonic Circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting Southwestwards with height. IMD indicates it is very likely to move Westwards gradually and Concentrate into a Depression during next 24 hours.
The Axis of Monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Ganganagar, Delhi, Allahabad, Daltonganj and towards the center of Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal & neighborhood.
An East-West shear zone runs roughly along Lat. 21°N across Central India between 3.6 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting Southwards with height.
There is a Cyclonic Circulation over West Rajasthan & neighborhood and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
The Last System had reached Madhya Pradesh, subsequently the UAC has become less marked.
A fresh Low Pressure Area is likely to develop over Northwest Bay of Bengal & neighborhood in 4/5 days.

Possibility of Light/Medium/Heavy/Very Heavy rain over scattered areas on some days and wide spread on other days at different locations with isolated extreme rainfall during the forecast period with higher quantum on 22nd/23rd August. Some extreme rain centers could get cumulative more than 200 mm. during the forecast period.
