Observations: Severe Cyclonic Storm “CHAPALA” made landfall between 2nd November 2015 at 2300 UTC & 3rd November 00 UTC over Central Yemen Lat. 14.15N & Long. 48.6E between Mukalla & Bi’r Ali about 50 Kms. Southwest of Mukalla and about 80 kms. Southwest of Riyan Airport.
Landfall details have been sought using the co-ordinates from UW-CIMSS (ADT)
Extremely heavy rainfall amounts of 5 to 15 inches possible vicinity of coastal areas of landfall accompanied with strong winds along the coast which would decrease during the next 24 to 36 hours.
