Current Weather Conditions on 31st Aug. 2007 @ 2.30 pm.

Cyclonic Circulation over Gujarat has moved over to Saurashtra and Arabian Sea near Coastal Saurashtra. Monsoon System will be very Active over Kerala & Coastal Karnataka and Moderate over Coastal Maharashtra, South Gujarat & Coastal Saurashtra. There is a Cyclonic Circulation over North Andhra Pradesh Coast and Orissa Coast in the Bay of Bengal. This Cyclonic Circulation will lead to a Low Pressure formation in the Bay of Bengal within 48 Hours.

There has been 6.64 Cms. of rain in Rajkot this morning. The rainfall rate varied from 2 Cms. to 14 Cms. per Hour.

Rains to Continue Over Saurashtra, Gujarat & Mumbai Till 1st September 
Current Weather Conditions on 29th Aug. 2007 @ 11.30 am.

There is an Active Monsoon System over Coastal Maharashtra, South Gujarat and Coastal Saurashtra. There is also an Active Monsoon System over Andhra Pradesh. This AP. System is expected to move in North West direction and merge with the System in the Arabian Sea by tomorrow. The cumulative effect of these Systems would give Extremely Heavy rain to Coastal Maharashtra including Mumbai and Heavy to Moderate rain for Saurashtra, Kutch, South Gujarat and Central Gujarat during 29th August to 1st September 2007.

29th August to 1st September: Fifty percent of Saurashtra along with Central Gujarat will receive 4 Cms. to 8 Cms. of rain and another fifty percent of Saurashtra along with South Gujarat will receive 8 Cms. to 12 Cms of rain during this period. It is expected that the heavier intensity rain will be on the Coastal areas of Saurashtra with isolated places getting more than 12 Cms. of rain. The Weather situation is changing rapidly, so updates will be done as and when required.

Very Active Monsoon System Over Mumbai and Coastal Maharashtra 
Current Weather Conditions on 27th Aug. 2007 @ 10.30 am.

Very active Monsoon System is present over Coastal Maharashtra extending upto Western Madhya Pradesh border where it is of moderate intensity. There is also a moderate Monsoon System located 150 Kms. South of Porbundar. The Maharashtra System is expected to move in the North Westwards direction initially and then towards the Westards direction after coming over Saurashtra. The cumulative effect of these Sytems would give Extremely Heavy rain to Coastal Maharashtra including Mumbai and Heavy to Moderate rain for Saurashtra, Kutch, South Gujarat and Central Gujarat.

Next Round of Rain For Saurashtra Kutch & Gujarat 
Current Weather Conditions on 25th Aug. 2007 @ 10.30 am.

Monsoon was active over Andhra Pradesh due to a Cyclonic Circulation over Andhra Coast and neighbourhood. This system has travelled North Westwards direction through Karnataka and will reach Maharashtra tomorrow and then to Gujarat. There is also a Cyclonic Circulation over Saurashtra Gujarat and neighbouring Arabian Sea. Current forecast model suggests that the system from Andhra will interact with the system over Saurashtra & Gujarat and neighbouring Arabian Sea giving the next round of rain for Saurashtra Kutch & Gujarat.

25th August to 30th August: Weather will be clearer on 25th & 26th August. Scattered moderate rain on various days totalling 5 Cms. to 10 Cms. can be expected over most parts of Saurashtra, Kutch & North Gujarat mainly between 27th to 30th August. Isolated heavy rains over some of these places upto 15 Cms. can be expected. Heavy scattered rainfall of 10 Cms. to 15 Cms. can be expected over South Gujarat and Central Gujarat during this forecast period.

Monsoon Active Over Andhra Pradesh Today 
Current Weather Conditions on 24th Aug. 2007 @ 10.30 am.

Monsoon will be active over Andhra Pradesh today because of a Cyclonic Circulation over Andhra Coast and neighbourhood. This system is expected to travel in a North Westwards direction during the next two three days through Kannataka and Maharashtra and then to Gujarat. Till then, clearer weather expected over Saurashtra from 24th to 26th August.

Clearer Weather For Saurashtra for Next Three Days 
Current Weather Conditions 23rd Aug. 2007 @ 10.30 am.

The Low Pressure over Madhya Pradesh Rajastan Gujarat border has moved North Westwards and is now lying at the Rajastan Pakistan border. The associated convective system had covered the whole of Gujarat on 21st August and then moved out to North Arabian Sea and Coastal Pakistan. Clearer weather expected over Saurashtra on 24th to 26th August.

Monsoon Activity Today: Western Rajastan along Pakistan border, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Coastal Karnataka.

23rd August to 29th August: Weather will be clearer on 24th to 26th August.
