Monsoon has become active over Saurashtra again. There is an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation in the Arabian Sea South Of Saurashtra. Hence, weather has improved over Saurashtra.
Weekly Forecast for Rajkot, Saurashtra : 30th June to 6th July
Saurashtra will receive good rainfall due to an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over the Arabian Sea South of Saurashtra. Good rainfall is expected over most parts of Saurashtra today and tomorrow. Another System from the East & Central India is expected to move Westwards and reach the M.P. Gujarat & Rajastan border around 4th July. The second spell of rainfall for Saurashtra could occur on 5th and 6th July depending upon the movement of the above System from the Central India. In short the weather over Saurashtra is good for rainfall during this week.
Note: Forecast quantity will be updated as warranted. The Forecast rainfall figures are in Cms.
50 % of Saurashtra will receive scattered rainfall on 30th June and 1st July and the total rainfall for the entire forecast period is expected to be 5 Cms. to 7 Cms.
30 % of Saurashtra will moderate rainfall on 30th June and 1st July and the total rainfall for the entire forecast period is expected to be 7Cms. to 10 Cms.
20 % of Saurashtra will heavy rainfall on 30th June and 1st July and the total rainfall for the entire forecast period is expected to be above 10 Cms.

Current Weather Conditions on 28th June 2008 12.00 pm.
Weather has not been condusive for rainfall over Saurashtra. However, from today the weather is improving over Saurashtra.
Forecast for Rajkot, Saurashtra & Gujarat: 28th to 30th June
Rainfall of uneven quantity and scattered over parts of Saurashtra is expected.

Current Weather Conditions on 23rd June 2008 11.00 am.
Monsoon has been active over East India, Central India and North Eastern States. Weather has not been condusive for rainfall over Saurashtra and Farmers are eagerly awaiting the next round of satisfying rainfall for Saurashtra.
Forecast for Rajkot, Saurashtra & Gujarat: 23rd to 29th June
It is expected that rainfall for Saurashtra will vary from places to places and will rain on various days of the forecast period with better chance of rain on 25th, 26th & 29th June.
Note: The Forecast rainfall figures are in Cms.
50 % of Saurashtra will receive small amounts of scattered showers on some days of the forecast period totaling only upto 1 Cms.
25 % of Saurashtra will receive very light scattered rainfall on some days of the forecast period totaling 1.5 to 2.5 Cms.
25 % of Saurashtra will receive light scattered rainfall on some days of the forecast period totaling 2.5 to 4 Cms.

The Low pressure is yet over Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh border. The convective system associated with this Low Pressure is mainly over Madhya Pradesh, East Rajastan & Western Maharashtra.
Currently the weather conditions over Saurashtra is not condusive for significant rainfall.

Current Weather Conditions on 19th June 2008 @ 3.30 pm.
The Depression had weakened to a Well Marked Low pressure yesterday over Jharkhand and has further weakened to a Low Pressure lying on the Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh border. The convective system associated with this Low Pressure is mainly over Madhya Pradesh, South Rajastan & M.P. Gujarat border.
Weekly forecast of Rainfall for Saurashtra will be posted tomorrow 20-06-2008.
Forecast for Rajkot, Saurashtra & Gujarat: 20th & 21st June
Saurashtra will get light rain in a few places or scattered showers in some parts of Saurashtra on 20th and 21st June.
South Gujarat, Cetral Gujarat & North Gujarat will get moderate scattered rainfall for next two days.
Rest of India:
Heavy rains for West Madhya Pradesh, South Rajastan and East Rajastan for the next two days.

Current Conditions on 17th June 2008 @ 1.30 pm.
The Low Pressure in the North Bay of Bengal yesterday had strengthened to a Depression yesterday and was located about 200 Kms. South East of Kolkata yesterday afternoon. It crossed over the Bangla Desh Coast in the evening and this morning it lay on the border of Bangla Desh and West Bengal. It will move in North Westwards direction.

Current Conditions on 16th June 2008 @ 10.30 am.
A Low Pressure has developed over North Bay of Bengal yesterday and currently it is located at 20.7N 89E about 225 Kms. South of Kolkata.
Current winds are at 37 Kms. with 1000 mb. pressure.
Northern Limit of Monsoon as per IMD on 15th June:
Northern limit of southwest monsoon passes through 25°N/60°E, 25°N/65°E, Mount Abu, Bhilwara, Sawai Madhopur, Agra, Delhi and Sri Ganganagar.
Monsoon has reached New Delhi yesterday 15th June 2008 breaking 108 year record of earliest onset over New Delhi. The same had been forecast in my posting dated 12th June 2008.
Forecast for Rajkot, Saurashtra & Gujarat:
Whole of Saurashtra will have cloudy weather for the next few days with only showers. Heavy rains are not forecast for the next few days. South & Central Gujarat will receive rains as per forecast dated 12th June.
