Whole Saurashtra has received a good round of rainfall from 3rd to 9th July. Under the influence of upper Air Cyclonic Circulation extending upto lower tropospheric levels over Central Uttar Pradesh,
the axis of monsoon trough has shifted northwestwards and now passes through Anupgarh, Churu, Lucknow, Patna, Bardwan, Canning and thence South-Eastwards to East Central Bay of Bengal.
Forecast for Saurashtra & Gujarat: 10th to 15th July 2010
There is an off shore trough from Saurashtra coast to Kerala coast and under its influence, medium rainfall is expected over Coastal regions of Saurashtra and South Gujarat.
Coastal Saurashtra & South Gujarat:
Medium rain on 10th,11th, 14th & 15th July and scanty on 12th & 13th July.
Rest of Saurashtra:
Scattered showers on 10th, 11th,14th & 15th July. No rain on 12th & 13th July.
Rain quantity for Saurashtra during the Forecast period:
10 % of Saurashtra will get 5 Cms. to 8 Cms. of rainfall
15 % of Saurashtra will get 3 Cms. to 5 Cms. of rainfall.
75 % of Saurashtra will get 1 Cms. to 3 Cms. of rainfall.
South Gujarat will get 10 Cms to 15 Cms. of rainfall during the forecat period.

As per IMD Bulletin
Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, most parts of East Rajasthan and entire Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. However, the advance of monsoon over East Uttar Pradesh was feeble.
The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat. 25.0°N/Long. 60.0°E, Lat. 25.0°N/Long. 65.0°E, Lat. 25.0°N/Long.71.0°E, Jawai Dam, Ajmer, Churu and Sriganganagar.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into the remaining parts of Rajasthan during next 48 hours.

Whole Saurashtra has received a good round of rainfall on 3rd and 4th July. The Mid-Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation has mainly tracked West North Westwards and is currently over North Gujarat. The Axis of Monsoon runs from North Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhhatishgarh, Orissa and Bay of Bengal vicinity of Orissa Coast. The Mid-Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation is now embedded in the Western end of Axis of Monsoon.

The Mid-Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation is over East Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood. It is expected to track mainly Westwards. Heavy clouding is seen over North Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Shamlaji Ahmedabad to Central Gujarat area covering Baroda, Anand, Nadiad, Dabhoi to North Madhya Maharashtra.
Heavy Clouding is seen over Amreli and Gir Forest Area of Saurashtra.
The off shore trough from Maharashtra coast to Karnataka coast persists.
Heavy rainfall has been reported over Mumbai today.
